Jailhouse Café Charity Donations

Where do your tips go?

The serving prisoners from HMPYOI Portland who work in this Jailhouse Café are not permitted to benefit personally from any tips given to them for their service, and so they pass them on

the other charitable causes which they support.

In the past, thanks to the generosity of our customers, they have donated to both national and local charities;
Great Ormond Street received a massive £920
£400 went to the Weldmar Hospice in Dorset
£50 to the British Heart Foundation
£200 to a children’s charity, the Lullaby Trust
And the Portland Food bank received £125 worth of food.

In October we have donated £200 to support Father’s Day activities inside Portland Prison to enable the men to support their own visiting families, and we also handed over £200 to Mary at the Lantern Trust in Weymouth which is a charity working with the homeless and vulnerable in our community. This is all possible because of your generosity.
